Such a shame that Electricity in a Box had to leave the retail market. I have only been with them for 3 months but during that time had solar installed and the Customer service team were brilliant, and minimal waiting to speak to someone was an unexpected bonus. I sincerely hope the CEO Morgan Duncan can lead the team through the tough time ahead and relaunch the retail arm as soon as possible. We need the competition provided by these smaller retailers
Bait and Switch Scam Read all of the previous reviews from early 2022, or even 2021. They all have the same trait as the one I am about to describe. I signed up to Electricityinabox (EIAB) on 6 May 2022. I was officially switched across on 23 May 2022. Three days later I receive a notification that my rates are going up 95%. Yet, read all of the earlier reviews. The same thing happened. Yet, the prices they were offered was low 20's then raised to mid-40's. Electricityinabox blamed price increases. To most of the others, they did this in 2021. Yet, here they are offering me low 20's in May 2022 and then doing exactly the same price rise. The price rises in wholesale energy did not occur in two days. Yet, EIAB did our electricity transfer on 23MAy 2022, and increased prices two days later. Either they are deceptive or incompetent. We have sent ElectricityinABox 4 emails in the past week. Not one reply from ElectricityinABox. We have rung ElectricityinABox, and left a detailed message with their overseas call center. Promised a manager would respond. No response whatsoever. It takes a minimum of 10 business days to switch providers, yet ElectricityInABox provided only 3 business days to formally announce a 95% price increase. Even if we did switch providers (twice in one month) it is physically impossible to avoid ElectricityinABox 95% increase with 3 business days' notice. Still waiting for a reply to any of the emails I have sent, ElectricityinABox.
To everyone who is even thinking of joining this pathetic company… DONT even waste your time. After signing up, then getting all my details and thinking I’m ready to go, I get a phone call saying that there has been a ‘technical issue’ which was they could no longer honour the price advertised on their website. The most unprofessional and dishonest electricity provider I have ever dealt with. If I could give them minus five stars, that would be a true overview of my dealing with them. In response to your reply. If you can't fulfil the advertised price don't false advertise to lure customers in. "Have a nice day"
